5th Annual Women’s History Conference
September 19 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sisters Mary Ida Mann Cady and Jessie Ellen Mann grew up in Concord, Michigan, at the turn of the 20th Century, spending most of their lives in the big yellow house on Hanover Street. In 1970, the sisters gave their home and its contents to the State of Michigan to serve as a museum – Mann House. In commemoration of the Mann sisters, the Michigan History Center, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, holds a conference dedicated to examining the role of women through an aspect of the sisters’ lives.
Join us for the 5th Annual Women’s History Conference on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024! Held at the Universalist Church across the street from the Mann House, this year’s conference theme centers on the role that travel played in Jessie’s life. The conference, titled “The Accidental Tourist: Around the World with the Mann Sisters,” will include presentations, entertainment presented by the Jacktown Ukes, lunch, a variety of refreshments, tours of historic sites in Concord and more.
Registration is required and costs $40 per person.
Please register here by Sept. 13, 2024.
