A new bill was recently introduced to the Michigan House by State Representative Kathy Schmaltz that aims to lower the state income tax. Rep. Schmaltz provided our audience with the details of the bill and why she felt it was necessary to introduce.
Rep. Schmaltz says she is optimistic that the bill will receive bipartisan support in Michigan congress.
She recently gave testimony regarding an education package consisting of 13 bills she says are to help Michigan teachers and students, and to improve the state’s education rankings.
The House also passed legislation on the proceedings of the state budget negotiations ensuring that a government shutdown would not leave essential services high and dry if negotiations go long.
