Jackson Native Called up to Red Wings

mazur-2

A Jackson native is expected to make his NHL debut in tonight’s Detroit Red Wings Game against the Utah Hockey Club at Little Caesar’s Arena. Carter Mazur from Jackson was called up from the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins to the Red Wings yesterday, as was reported by The Athletic’s Max Bultman and none other than Jackson radio legend Greg O’Connor.

After Mazur suffered an injury early in the hockey season that kept him out for more than three months, he returned to the Griffins in late January. He was called up off the heels of a 6-game point streak, scoring 4 goals and earning 3 assists during the frame.

He has an AHL season total of 15 points in 20 games. If Carter Mazur stays off the healthy scratch list, tonight will be the Jackson native’s first ever NHL game.
