Blake Curran, a 32-year-old man of Jackson, was sentenced by Judge John G. McBain on Wednesday after being found guilty of murder (second-degree). Curran was found guilty in November 2024 of murdering Darold Goodloe Jr., those charges stemming from an incident that occurred in the City of Jackson on June 28, 2020. The second-degree murder sentence ranges from more than 56 years to more than 83 years to be served. Curran was also sentenced to serve an additional 5 years for a conviction of a 2nd offense of felony firearm.

Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney Kelsey Guernsey thanked Judge McBain for his sentence. She thanked the Jackson City Police Department as well for their investigation, saying that they did an excellent job of seeing this through to the end. Prosecutor Guernsey says that justice was served not only for the victim, but also for our community.
