Jackson, Mich. (WKHM, Marc W. Daly) — Hinkley Bakery has temporarily closed its doors.
The iconic bakery, located at 700 South Blackstone Street, announced the closure in a social media post on Wednesday, December 4, without providing a reason. This follows an earlier announcement that the shop would remain closed through Thanksgiving weekend.
A sign on the door says the bakery is “still making improvements to serve you better,” promising updates to come. Owners Brian and Connie Hinkley haven’t commented, but the news has sparked an outpouring of support online.
Hinkley Bakery has been a Jackson landmark for over 110 years, famous for its glazed doughnuts, chocolate crescents, and cream-filled long johns.
For now, fans will have to wait for its sweet return.
