john-denney

John Denney, longtime Superintendent at Hanover-Horton Schools has announced that he is stepping down following this school year. Denny spoke exclusively with Greg O’Connor on News Talk 970AM/101.5FM

Denney told us there are many challenges to being a Superintendent.

One drastic change over the years, Denney said not really the kids but the influence of social media.

Hanover-Horton principal Mrs. Denise Bergstrom appears to the current leading candidate to fill the position ans she gets high praise from Denney.

Denney made his intentions known to school board members near the start of the school year, yet no formal announcement was made at that time. Denney was hired in 2010 as High School Principal, then was promoted to Superintendent in 2013.

Bergstrom will be formally interviewed for the position at a special meeting Monday, December 11th at 5 p.m. The public is welcomed to sit in on that session.

The board is likely to consider two options at that meeting: hire Bergstrom, or expand their Superintendent search.
