summer-pops-cms

Jackson, Mich. —  The Jackson Symphony Orchestra continues its 40-year-old tradition of summer pops concerts Friday, August 26 in downtown Jackson with “Heroes and Heroines,” a performance honoring both fictional and real heroes through iconic music.

The first half of the concert features themes from Superman, Spiderman, Black Panther and other heroes from comic books and movies. The second half of the performance honors real-life heroes like veterans in the community with epic music.

This free concert will take place in Horace Blackman Park on Friday, August 26 at 7 pm alongside the Cruise In which features classic cars on display. Downtown will be bustling with concertgoers, food trucks, vintage vehicles, and even a few caped crusaders. The JSO encourages anyone who would like to wear their military uniform or a hero costume to do so. Those interested in special seating may purchase a VIP ticket from the JSO for $30. This includes prime seating, one drink ticket for the performance, and a pre-concert party across the street at Weatherwax Hall starting at 6 pm. Those who don’t wish to purchase tickets can bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit and enjoy the show for free.
