Jackson, Mich., April 4, 2022 – Habitat for Humanity of Michigan and Consumers Energy have
teamed once again to provide financial support to Habitat affiliates with a goal of raising
$300,000 (statewide) by the end of July. Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity has set a local
goal of $5000 to help fund critical housing needs in Jackson County.
Through the Power of Home campaign, Consumers Energy will donate $1 for every $2 raised
through individual Habitat donations, up to $100,000.
“For over a decade, Consumers Energy and Habitat for Humanity of Michigan have partnered to
help provide critical housing funds to communities across Michigan, and we are proud to
continue that support this year through the Power of Home campaign,” said Brian Lewis,
Consumers Energy’s Executive Director of Customer Operations. “This effort helps to raise
funds that are used to provide safe and affordable housing. These homes are also energyefficient, helping us to eliminate energy waste and better protect the planet. We are grateful to
be part of this partnership and for everything Habitat does to support our state.”
In the past nine years (2012-2021) Power of Home (formerly Home Run for Habitat) campaigns
have successfully raised nearly $1.9 million from 4,900 public donors, bringing the total
raised/matched to more than $2.9 million. Consumers Energy provided $1 million in matching
funds for Habitat affiliates by its donation of $1 for every $2 raised through individual
donations.
The Power of Home – Michigan campaign is our opportunity to raise funds statewide to better
equip affiliates to stabilize housing in their communities. Our friends at Consumers Energy are
251 W. Prospect, Jackson, MI 49203 | Jacksonhabitat.org | 517-784-6620
offering affiliates $100,000 in match funds – every $2 raised in the campaign receives an
additional $1 of match money. We need YOUR HELP to meet our goal of $5,000 and receive
these match funds! Together, we can become a force of change.
Join us as we continue to work towards a future where every Michigan family experiences
firsthand the power of a healthy, safe, affordable home.
In order to receive the Consumers Energy match, all donations must be made through the
online giving platform Classy. More information about individual affiliate campaigns is available

On Wednesday April 6, you can also join Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity in person from
11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the ReStore at 251 W. Prospect in Jackson, Michigan, for an Open
House to help kick off our Power of Home campaign. We’ll have Smokey Styles BBQ food truck
