Walton Insurance Group “Teacher of the Month”

Good Things Going Teacher of the Month – June

June’s Good Things Going Teacher of the Month was awarded to Bill Pogue (Po-ge), 8th Precision Machining Instructor at the Jackson Area Career Center. Bill, who has been in the manufacturing industry for most of his career, is making a positive impact on his students interested in the trade.

Bill attended a similar concept to the Career Center when he was in High School, which is where he found his passion in manufacturing. This early experience was so impactful to Bill, he vowed to return someday to the classroom as an educator someday. A few decades later, Bill is now living his dream of teaching kids about one of Jackson’s highest demanded jobs.

“He goes above and beyond to do anything the student needs to learn and succeed.” Evan Hutchinson, a Senior in the manufacturing program said. “He’s been a great inspiration to what can happen in the manufacturing field.”

Bill is the 6th educator selected as Good Things Going Teacher of the Month program, a new program made possible by the Walton Insurance Group. “We know teachers go above and beyond every day for their students. This program helps our community recognize and celebrate educators for all they do.” Said Stuart Kail, Director of Community Outreach and Marketing at the Walton Insurance Group. “We feel honored to be able to share their story with our community.”

In partnership with WKHM, the Good Things Going Teacher of the Month will be released on the Greg O’Conner Morning Show the first Thursday of the month and a video that is produced will be available on Good Things Going’s Facebook and Instagram page later that day at 11AM.
