Junior Achievement Grand Prix pushed to 2021

The Junior Achievement Grand Prix was set to return to downtown Jackson for the first time this year since its conception in 1996.

However, with uncertainty looming due to COVID-19 safety, the event has been postponed until June 2021.

“For over two years now it has been a dream to hold the event in downtown Jackson where it originally started in 1996,” states Junior Achievement President Connie Poisson. “However, due to COVID-19 the safety and health of our community partners, racing teams, volunteers and staff is a priority to the Junior Achievement organization and with this in mind the steering committee has decided to postpone the celebration of our annual ‘Race for Education’ until June of 2021 when we can race and celebrate in style without concerns.”

The Junior Achievement Grand Prix provides funding for hundreds of young people to receive programs that encourage smart personal finance decisions, sparks the entrepreneurial mind and develops workforce skills in students around the county.

In 2021 Junior Achievement will be celebrating 25 years of “Racing for Education” in a grand manner celebrating the rich history of this event with all its partners and presenting sponsor, Eaton Corporation. The Junior Achievement Grand Prix steering committee thanks all their dedicated sponsors and racing teams along with the Downtown Development Authority for their gracious support of the Grand Prix.
