Over the past few days on WKHM, we’ve been breaking big local business news.
First, Jon Finney joined us to announce that Minuteman Sewer and Drain had recently purchased Rooney’s Drain Service, and they will be combining forces. “The opportunity presented itself this spring for us to merge with the people over at Rooney’s. Mark Konopacki ended up buying them out, and we brought Rob along because he was kind of the brains of the operation. I’m happy to say that now we’re operating under one roof as a big, happy family,” Finney said.
Mark Konopacki is the owner of Minuteman, believes firmly in giving back to the community, and it isn’t something that he really talks about often. The culture is contagious, as Finney explained, “He doesn’t really like to advertise it too much, but I feel like it really needs to be said. When you call any one of these companies that we’re representing today, a good portion of that money does go to charity. Mark believes that you get what you give. He’s proven that, I’ve personally seen some of the checks that he’s written. It’d blow your mind to see the generosity that he has, and the way that our company gives.”
Also, US Staffing, who joins us every Monday morning on WKHM, announced that they would be expanding operations to a new branch in Nashville, Tennessee. Ben Jones and Jim Dolson from US Staffing joined Greg for the announcement, which you can hear here.
