A doctor with Mason Family Medicine is no longer allowed to practice in Michigan after a state investigation concluded he was misusing his power to write prescriptions for controlled substances. After an investigation that began in 2016, Steven Alan Owens was given 18 months probation and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine. He continued to practice medicine in violation of his probation and later prescribed medications to undercover patients.
