Grass Lake High School’s Brian Zalud has been named the Region VI Athletic Director of the Year for 2024-25. The Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association honored Zalud at its Mid-Winter Conference on March 15.
Zalud, who has led Grass Lake athletics since 2017, says the recognition is humbling and credits his coaches, athletes, and community for the program’s success. He oversees up to 40 coaches and more than 200 student-athletes annually.
School officials praise Zalud’s leadership, organization, and commitment to student success. Superintendent Nicholas Angel says Zalud has built a culture of excellence and inclusion.
