The Hanover-Horton competitive cheer team won its first ever state championship to finish atop Division Four, fending off Pewamo-Westphalia, who had finished higher than them during regionals. Head Coach Sarah DuBois talked about the victory with WKHM, and how the team is consisted of great kids all around.
The Comets made the state finals last season, and Coach DuBois said that she knew early on that another deep postseason run was in the cards.
Coach DuBois was proud of her team for working on what needed improvement between regionals and the state finals, which is what ultimately helped them earn their spot at the summit of Division Four at McGuirk Arena.
