Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — At last night’s City of Jackson Council Meeting, councilmembers unanimously voted to approve the sale of the Hotel Hayes on W. Michigan Avenue to Collier Gibson for $25,000. This decision comes after the City and J. Jeffers, the previous group working to purchase the Hotel Hayes, were unable to come to terms before contractual deadlines which prompted the City to seek out a new buyer. City Manager Jonathan Greene spoke about the roadblocks that prevented the relationship between the City and J. Jeffers having a more productive result with WKHM, and what makes Collier Gibson a better partner.

City Manager Greene also divulged what went into the decision to sell the Hayes to Collier Gibson.

City Council also approved MDOT road construction on MLK Jr. Drive (from South St. to Morrell St.), MDOT milling and resurfacing on Brown St. (from Denton Rd. to High St.), and roadway widening on Blackstone St. (from Glick Hwy. to VanBuren St.).
