Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Michigan State Representative Kathy Schmaltz, along with the rest of State Congress, was able to get the tipped wage and paid sick time bills off her plate last week. The bills were signed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Friday, and Rep. Schmaltz says this was an example of the House and Senate coming to a necessary compromise.
With those bills out of the way, Rep. Schmaltz can turn her attention to introducing some bills to the House, including honoring a former Tuskegee airman from Jackson.
Rep. Schmaltz also made comment on the Hotel Hayes, saying that things are still up in the air on that front, and that we may be stuck playing the waiting game for updates.
State Rep. Kathy Schmaltz normally joins AM Jackson on NewsTalk 970AM/101.5FM Fridays. Full interviews can be found here.
