After more than two decades leading Napoleon Community Schools, Superintendent James Graham is set to retire in June 2025.
Graham has spent nearly 40 years in education, with 22 of those as Napoleon’s superintendent. He says he’s proud to have been part of the district and is committed to helping the next leader transition smoothly.
The school board is now working with the Michigan Association of School Boards to find his replacement. Community meetings for public input are scheduled for February 20 and 27 at Napoleon Middle School.
Under Graham’s leadership, the district has seen strong graduation rates and expanded STEM, arts, and music programs. He also helped secure funding for major school renovations, including a 2012 bond project and ongoing improvements.
