A 26-year-old Jackson County woman was arrested in relation to a New Year’s Eve stabbing that occurred just before midnight in Wheatfield Township.
According to the Ingham County Sherriff’s Office, the Jackson woman was arrested after deputies were called to the 400 block of Waldo Road. Authorities found the victim, a 33-year-old Mason woman, who told police that she had been stabbed in the chest after she and the suspect got into an argument. She was taken to a local hospital with what officials say are non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was located and lodged at the Ingham County Jail. The investigation has been turned over to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office for review and handling of potential charges.
