Jackson, Mich. (WKHM, Marc W. Daly) — A suspected drunk driver was arrested Friday night in Jackson after running a stop sign and crashing through a fence.
Police say officers on patrol spotted a speeding car blow through a stop sign before crashing into a fence. When officers approached the vehicle, they noticed an open glove box containing what appeared to be a revolver.
Both the driver and a passenger were detained as police investigated. Officers determined the gun was not registered to either occupant.
The driver showed clear signs of intoxication and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Police say charges related to the unregistered firearm are pending further investigation.
No injuries were reported and the incident remains under review by the Jackson Police Department.
