Jackson, Mich. (WKHM, Marc W. Daly) — A Spring Arbor man was arrested Wednesday after using a samurai sword to break his neighbor’s windows and threaten him. Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. on South Circle Drive in Spring Arbor Township. The suspect allegedly smashed the windows with the 18-inch blade, forced his neighbor to the ground, and poked him with the weapon before retreating to his own home.
When officers arrived, the 37-year-old man was on his porch holding the sword. He refused orders to drop it and went inside. Police obtained a search warrant and, with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police, entered the home and arrested him.
The man is now in the Jackson County Jail, facing charges of felonious assault and assault with a dangerous weapon. Several pit bulls that escaped the home during the arrest were safely located with help from local residents.
