Jackson, Mich. (WKHM, Marc W. Daly) — Jackson police are teaming up with a local business to help families this holiday season.

The department’s second annual Ham Drive-Thru is set for Wednesday, December 18, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Garcia Laboratory is donating 400 hams, which will be distributed free of charge to families in need. No sign-up is required.

Drivers should enter through the N. Blackstone Street entrance and remain in their vehicles. Officers will hand out the hams, with a limit of one per vehicle, while supplies last.

The event is part of the police department’s Group Violence Intervention Strategy, focusing on community outreach. Coordinator Cheryl Ragland says they hope the effort eases financial strain and ensure families can enjoy a holiday meal.

The fairgrounds are located at 128 W. Ganson St. in Jackson.
