Sex trafficking suspects apprehended during undercover operation

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Michigan State Police, conducted an undercover operation targeting individuals suspected of involvement in sex trafficking. Authorities announced Tuesday that the operation resulted in five arrests.

According to officials, the suspects were apprehended during interactions with law enforcement officers posing as underage girls. Each suspect was subsequently taken into custody at the Jackson County Jail.

Charges against all five individuals were filed by the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office on November 18. The investigation aimed to address concerns about sex trafficking involving underage victims in the Jackson area.

The suspects are listed below.

  • Kyle Wayne Owen, 38 (Jackson County)
  • Markcus Cole, 41 (Jackson County)
  • Eddie Lee McElroy, 34 (Lenawee County)
  • Gregory Oswald Matthew Wines, 48 (Ingham County)
