Millages on the Jackson County voters’ ballot

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson County voters will find three proposals on their ballot today. WKHM has the recap:

The Jackson District Library millage is an operating renewal millage that comes up every eight years. John Hart, with Citizens for JDL, joined WKHM to share the details:

 

Jackson College is asking voters to take them back to their 1964 millage, due to Headley, that would mean a small increase. Jackson College President Dan Phelan says extra funding would all go to training for, and finding jobs:

 

Jackson County Sheriff Gary Schuette says about the Jackson County Jail Operations millage that this is nothing about any new buildings, or even any upgrades. This is about keeping deputies on the streets, he says:

 

Polls are open Tuesday, November 5, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
