Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson area is jam packed with events this weekend with a big Antique & Collectibles Show at the American 1 Event Center Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5; and the first Grass Lake Oktoberfest and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 5.

Jackson Antique & Collectibles Show

Jerry Doerr has been putting on these shows for 20 years, and is also in charge of the gigantic Toy Show coming up November 2nd:

The Antique & Collectibles Show is 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the American 1 Event Center. Admission is $3 for adults; kids get in free.

Grass Lake Oktoberfest

CEO Phil Willis recently joined WKHM with ticket and sponsor information on this first-ever event:

The event will run 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. in Grass Lake and includes music, vendors, food trucks, breweries & wineries, and more. Full information can be found online.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association with integrated moments to reflect and remember those affected by Alzheimer’s. Development Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association, Sue Prynn, recently joined WKHM to share the details.

Prynn says a lot of information will be available and quite a bit of fun before the walk begins at 11:15 a.m. at Horace Blackman Park:

How do you know when to start the conversation with your family about a loved one with Alzheimer’s? Prynn says it can be a difficult conversation and is different with every family, but information is a phone call away.
