Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — UAW Local 475 workers at Eaton Aerospace in Jackson are holding a solidarity walk Monday afternoon, as their strike continues into its second week. Over 500 unionized employees walked off the job after contract talks stalled, with the union citing a gap between the company’s record profits and the benefits being offered to workers.
Retirement benefits remain a key sticking point. The union claims Eaton is pushing for a two-tier system that would eliminate pensions and 401(k) plans for new hires by the end of the contract.
Supporters will gather at 3 p.m. outside the plant, rallying for what they call a fair contract that protects retirement, health care, and wages.
