Sherriff Gary Schuette reports Monday, May 13th 2024, at approximately 1:30p.m., Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff responded to a 911 call of a suspicious death in the 5000 Block of Wooodland Road, in Summit Township.
Upon arriving on the scene, Deputies located two deceased subjects inside the residence. Both subjects appeared to have died from an apparent gunshot wound. The subjects were identified as Virginia Zwick (74) and Duane Zwick (75), residents of the home. Next of kin has been notified.
Detectives, supervisors and the Medical Examiner responded to the scene. Additional investigation is required to determine the cause and manner of death for both subjects. No arrests have been made. However, after assessing the scene it does not appear that the community is in danger from an at-large suspect. Further examination of evidence is on-going and will be conducted by the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff’s Detective Bureau.
