Saturday, April 20th at approximately 10:36 p.m., officers of the Jackson Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Maple Avenue for a reported shooting inside the residence. Officers arrived and were directed to the 15-year-old victim in the upstairs bedroom. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest area. The victim was transported to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The initial investigation determined there were several juveniles hanging out in the bedroom. Initial interviews with the juvenile witnesses indicated the shooting was possibly accidental. The investigation is ongoing at this time. The juvenile was identified as Carter Miller.
