From the Michigan Lottery:
LANSING, Mich., Oct. 19, 2023 – A Coldwater woman’s weekly ritual paid off in a big way when she won a $150,000 Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery.
Brandy Bowditch, 39, matched four white balls and the Powerball – 47-54-57-60-65, PB: 19 – in the Oct. 7 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $150,000. She bought her winning ticket at PS Food Mart, located at 709 West Chicago Street in Coldwater.
“I buy two Powerball tickets every week, and I always check them at my favorite store after the drawing,” said Bowditch. “I scanned my ticket and got a message to file a claim at the Lottery office, so I handed my ticket to the clerk and asked what was going on with it. She looked the ticket over and told me I must have won big.
“I checked the winning numbers on the Lottery app and was shocked when I realized the ticket was worth $150,000. When I told the clerk what I’d won, she yelled: ‘$150,000?!’ Neither of us could believe it!”
Bowditch recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to pay off her home, pay bills, and then save the remainder.
