Don’t be alarmed, but you’ll be receiving a couple of emergency alerts on Wednesday afternoon. The Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA and the FCC plan nationwide emergency alert tests Wednesday afternoon at about 2:20. The Wireless Emergency Alert portion of the test will be directed to all consumer cell phones and the message should display on your phone.
The Emergency Alert System (EAS) of the test will be sent to radios and televisions and will last about one minute. The test message will be similar to the regular monthly EAS test messages with which you are likely familiar.
