Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — With the approval and passage of a 2018 millage, the Jackson County Animal Shelter on Spring Arbor Rd. broke ground on an addition and renovations in April 2022 and is now ready to cross the finish line with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ceremony and celebration will take place September 8, 2023 at 3370 Spring Arbor Rd. at Noon. There will be an open house, light refreshments, snacks and cake. They are also expecting a delivery of puppies and small dogs just for the occasion. Visitors can also watch a slide show highlighting the construction project and many of the events the Jackson County Animal Shelter has hosted over the last year.
Lydia Sattler, Animal Services Director, said “we are so grateful for the community support for our local shelter, starting with the passage of the 2018 millage. Thanks to the voters and our ongoing support, the homeless pets of Jackson County have a formidable team on their side to be their voice and provide the best possible comfort and care while they await finding their match in a new loving home.”
