Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — An investigation is underway into Consumers Energy meters and billings. The Michigan Public Service Commission starting the investigation Friday after receiving complaints from customers about malfunctioning meters, potential over-billing and delays in new hookups for electric and gas. The Commission says Consumers is transitioning to new advanced electric meters, but more than 900,000 meters may be at risk. Consumers has a month to respond to the investigation.
