Michigan State Police will be testing a new text message system. When an emergency call is made in mid- and southwest Michigan, text updates will be sent afterwards with a progress of their call.
State Police say real-time updates will let you know when a trooper is en-route, as well as any other safety measures. If the program is successful, they could purchase and roll-out the program in the future.
