Former Jackson-area LGBTQ activist Nicole Joly, who is accused of setting their home on fire back in 2017 in a fake hate crime, has pleaded no contest to third degree arson.
The house fire killed several of Joly’s pets and injured two firefighters.
The arson was first investigated by the FBI as a potential hate crime, however various pieces of evidence pointed to it being a hoax with homeowner Nicole Joly as the suspected arson.
They face a maximum possible sentence of 10 years in prison.
Their sentencing is slated for June 8th.
