A 36-year-old man is dead following an officer involved shooting on Lake Columbia in Columbia Township this morning. The officer involved has been placed on leave per department policy.
The incident took place at 2:09am on Thursday, March 31, 2022. The matter is now in the hands of the Michigan State Police, who will lead the investigation.
No further information is being released at this time including the name of the officer involved or the victim.
