At approximately 6 AM on Monday, December 6th JPD officers were dispatched to the Admiral Gas Station at 846 W. Ave for a reported armed robbery. 3 subjects entered the store while a 4th held the door opened and acted as a lookout. One of the 3 subjects pulled a handgun and pointed at the clerk. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash and drove away in a white minivan.
Shortly after officers arrived at the Admiral station a new 9-1-1 call came in reporting an armed robbery at the PS Food Mart located at 815 Lansing Ave. Video from both locations showed the suspects at both locations to be the same and showed the same minivan. A gun was also displayed at the PS Food Mart. The suspects again left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The minivan used in the robberies was abandoned and located by officers on Demay Ct. The owner of the minivan indicated that it had been stolen from their residence in the 1100 block of S. Milwaukee St. some time during the night.
