Walton Insurance Group “Good Things Going” Teacher-of-the-Month

Good Things Going Teacher of the Month – May

May’s Good Things Going Teacher of the Month was awarded to George Gogal (go-gal), 8th Grade American History Teacher at Grass Lake Middle School. George is known for his unique and engaging storytelling in the classroom. His passion for his students and the district resonates throughout his story and we could not be happier to present him with this month’s award.

8th grade students Bryant and Vanessa went on camera to share the impact Mr. Gogal has made in their lives this school year. “He is a very bubbly person and he makes you feel like you belong in class.” Vanessa said. “He makes you want to actually come to class.” Bryant added that he enjoys Mr. Gogal’s class. “It makes you happy to know that your teachers care for you.”

George Gogal’s passion for creating a 1-on-1, personalized experience has helped him build relationships with his students over the years. “He makes it interesting and doesn’t lecture at.” Explained Jeanene Byerly, Grass Lake Middle School Principal. “He’s a great human, great guy and someone you want your kids to have as a role model.”

George is the 5th educator selected as Good Things Going Teacher of the Month program, a new program made possible by the Walton Insurance Group. “We know teachers go above and beyond every day for their students. This program helps our community recognize and celebrate educators for all they do.” Said Stuart Kail, Director of Community Outreach and Marketing at the Walton Insurance Group. “We feel honored to be able to share their story with our community.”

In partnership with WKHM, the Good Things Going Teacher of the Month will be released on the Greg O’Conner Morning Show the first Thursday of the month and a video that is produced will be available on Good Things Going’s Facebook and Instagram page later that day at 11AM.
