We might be in the clear of any further snow showers, but it is still on the mind of lawmakers.
Trying to find a solution for schools closing due to state snow emergencies, and how to make those days up. “If those additional days are needed where students aren’t in school, hours must be made up in 30 minute increments,” said State Representative Julie Alexander. When the decision to close is taken out of the hands of educators, the question becomes whether or not those days will need to be made up, and how to make them up.
Alexander says,”It’s only fair that schools know what their end date is.” She continued to say that teachers are creative people, and with technology as advanced as it is now, there are ways to deliver lessons and continue learning without being physically in the classroom.
