The Kiwanis Club of Jackson will present their final Travel and Adventure film.
George and Kathy Veach have been running the events for the past 20 years, but the program has a history that runs over 70 years. “Believe it or not, the first show was in 1946 and they went to Africa. We’ve been doing it every year since then” George Veach said. He said that the travel and adventure film industry isn’t what it used to be, but it has always been enjoyable. “It’s been a lot of work, it’s been a lot of fun.”
This Thursday’s film is about San Francisco, and will air at 7pm at Jackson High School. Veach said that there are a few tidbits you want to make sure you catch, “We’re finishing with a film on the city of San Francisco. It touches on all the things you might want to do, and some things you never thought you wanted to do. It even has some great footage from the 1906 earthquake.”
Veach concluded things with a reflection on 73 years: “All good things do come to an end.”
