New 65th District State Representative Sara Lightner was on WKHM talking about the need for car insurance reforms.
“One of the bigger priorities in the House right now also in the Senate, is the insurance reforms. Our speaker has put together a committee to lower car insurance this term,” Lightner said. “They made a commitment, made it a priority, have a special subcommittee to find out how we do that. It’s being led by Representative (Jason) Wentworth.”
We also asked how the learning curve is coming along. “Things do not move quickly in government. It’s been an interesting time learning the ropes of Lansing. We are just starting committee assignments. I’ll be in appropriations boot camp, then we’ll be in subcommittee for appropriations.” Lightner said.
