Thursday is a big day in the 50 year history of the Hurst Planetarium.
The facility is hosting a launch party with a ribbon cutting around 4:30. The day will be free to all with features on the new programs and upgrades, as well as a presentation on the upcoming eclipse. Director Austin Edmister wants Hurst to be the go-to for science and astronomy in the area. “We want to make the planetarium a science resource for Jackson. We want Hurst Planetarium to be the first thing on people’s mind when they think about astronomy.”
The Planetarium is hosting an Eclipse Party for the upcoming Super Blood Wolf Moon on Sunday, January 20th from 9pm until 11:30. For more information, call 787-2320.
