With Jackson Public Schools gearing up to re-activate Longfellow School, which has been offline for many years, we asked Mayor Derek Dobies about the roads in the area, and the plan for improving local streets all over.
“We’ve been working with a task force to come up with a long-term plan, we’ve doubled the amount of local funds going into our local streets from the previous fiscal year.” Dobies said. “That’s certainly not going to be enough to make a large enough dent in the 100 miles of local roads, 150 total miles of roads in the city. We’ve got a team in place in City Hall that can work on a long-term funding solutions.”
