City Councilman Andrew Frounfelker was charged with assault with intent to do bodily harm, assault with strangulation after an alleged altercation with a female in his home last night. The woman, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized with severe injuries. Frounfelker was given a $15,000 bond. The 5th Ward City Councilman is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on June 1st, and a preliminary exam on June 7th; both with Judge R. Darryl Mazur.

I spoke with Andy last night. He’s with his family and working through a number of matters in relation to yesterday’s charges, both professionally and personally. Andy informed me he will be making some professional decisions in the coming days.
