Project ChildSafe

The Jackson Police Department is again participating in Project ChildSafe. This is a nationwide program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation that helps ensure safe and responsible firearm ownership and storage.  As a firearms owner, you are responsible for knowing how to properly handle your firearm(s) and how to secure your firearms(s) in a safe manner in your home. As part of this program, residents of Jackson County are eligible to receive a cable firearm lock, free of charge, by stopping into the lobby of the Jackson Police Department between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10 p.m. Supplies are limited to one lock per citizen at this time.
