GM Invests in MI

General Motors says its investing $1.3 billion (B) in five plants including two in Michigan, creating or retaining about 1,000 jobs. The announcement was made at Flint Assembly, which will get $600 million for a new paint shop. GM Executive Vice President and North America President Mark Reuss says the announced plant upgrades continue the momentum of a resurgent auto industry. He adds that more importantly, the investments add up to higher quality and more
fuel-efficient vehicles for GM customers. GM says its investment includes: $600 million in Flint Assembly for facility
upgrades, including a new paint shop; $493.4 million in Romulus Powertrain operations.
