A Jackson County man is facing life in prison for the strangulation death of a Southeast Michigan woman last November.
Steven Storm of Vandercook Lake pleaded guilty Friday morning to second-degree murder in the November 16th death of 63 year-old Sandra Johnson of Lenawee County's Woodstock Township.
Johnson's body was found by hunters the next morning at the Adams Road boat launch on Crispell Lake in Jackson County's Liberty Township. Police believe Johnson was killed at her home and her body was dumped at the lake.
A life sentence on a second-degree murder charge will allow the 42 year-old Storm a chance at parole after a fixed number of years. Had he been convicted of first-degree murder, he would have served a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
