The FireKeepers Casino near Battle Creek is doing a little gambling of its own. The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians which owns the casino in Calhoun County's Emmett Township is betting that 12-12-12 is going to be a lucky day for opening its new resort-style hotel with a ribbon-cutting planned for 12:12 p.m. today (Wednesday). The new hotel has 242 rooms with an indoor pool, exercise facility, full service restaurant and a business center. There will also be a multi-purpose event center that can hold up to two-thousand people for concerts. FireKeepers Casino opened in 2009. It began taking reservations for the new hotel earlier this year.
