Tuesday a Deputy from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department recovered a stolen payroll check from a vehicle during a traffic stop.  A Sergeant with the department was working on a criminal complaint form the previous day involving the same type of payroll check being cashed at an area financial institution.  During the investigation it was discovered that similar checks had already been fraudulently cashed by are banks.  The Deputy was able to identify a suspect and execute a search warrant of a home on West Michigan Avenue with the city limits.  Hundreds of blank payroll checks were found inside and a suspect was taken into custody.  A 22 year old Jackson woman is facing charges of Uttering and Publishing and other related crimes.
