United Way of Jackson County has awarded over $66,000 dollars in federal funds from FEMA, to 14 organizations locally. The biggest award, of some $28,000 dollars, went to Jackson's Salvation Army, the Aware Shelter received $8,000 and several agencies including the Interfaith Shelter were awarded $5,000.
