Update! Jerry Lee Watson Jr. of Summit Twp. Facing Several Charges From Friday's Domestic Assault
43 year old Jerry Lee Watson Jr. has been charged with using a firearm to commit a felony, first degree home invasion, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and other charges for resisting and fighting with officers when they took him into custody. The charges stem from an incident Friday at an apartment complex in Blackman Township. Investigators allege that Watson armed with a .357 revolver forced his way into an apartment. Watson’s estranged wife, her sister and the couple’s 14 year old son locked themselves in the master bedroom. Two young girls, one 11 the other 12 hid in a closet in another bedroom and called 911. While on the phone, central dispatch heard two gunshots. Watson was able to force his way into the master bedroom and pointed the gun at his wife. The 14 year old son was able to wrestle the gun away, a neighbor came to the apartment and fought with Watson at the top of some stairs. Watson fell down the stairs and received a large cut on his forehead. Officers arrived within two minutes of the call and after an altercation were able to take him into custody. He was taken to Allegiance for treatment and then lodged in the Jackson County Jail. He was arraigned on Monday and released on $100,000 bond.
