Monday Activity For JPD



Monday, officers from the Jackson Police Department responded to the area of Francis and High for an assault.  Two subjects were arguing and the suspect then charged at the victim with a knife and a hammer.  The victim was able to disarm the suspect who then got into his vehicle and attempted to strike the victim and another subject.  The suspect the left the area and the investigation is continuing.

Officers on Monday also responded to McThirsty’s on Ganson.  A patron told an employee that smoke was coming from the back of the building, that’s where they found a small fire.  The fire was easily put out and it only caused minor damage.  No injuries were reported and police have no suspects at this time.

Monday night officers were flagged down on Biddle Street for a fight at Greenwood Food and Beverage.  Officer tried to talk with the person who was making all the trouble, that person continued to yell at the other person involved with the fight.  Both person’s were eventually arrested and a facing charges of disorderly conduct, assault and resisting & obstructing.
